"La Luna" is a visual exploration of humanity's deep-rooted connection with the celestial forces that shape our existence. As beings composed of 60% water, we are intrinsically linked to the ebb and flow of the moon. This piece reflects the moon's influence over us, aligning with the notion that, like the tides, we are swayed by the lunar cycles. Luna, the

guiding force, is depicted sitting proudly on the bow of the ship, leading us on an extraordinary voyage, and an epic journey.

Inspired by countless nights spent under the stars, I infused this piece with elements that resonate on both a personal and universal level. The inclusion of all twelve zodiac signs offers a playful challenge, much like a celestial "Where’s Waldo," inviting the viewer to find their zodiac sign within the artwork. 

The dreamscape is Luna's realm. As the hero of the piece, she commands the ship from the bow, unfolding a fantastical adventure. Egrets soar across the sky, gliding over ocean waves and through twilight clouds, traversing multiple moons. This journey questions our earthly existence and the nature of these Lunas, creating a surreal, dream-like environment.

The incorporation of cloud animals, a nod to the child-like joy of finding shapes in the sky, was realized in the incorporation of the egrets emerging from the clouds in the center of the hull. They glide towards a Rorschach-like pattern over the central moon- inviting viewers to derive their own interpretations and visual ideas from the piece. These elements add layers of whimsical fantasy to the artwork.

To achieve my distinctive collage-like aesthetic, I employed moonbeams to fragment and abstract shapes, creating a dynamic interplay of depth, light and shadow. 

The culmination of this piece is beyond my wildest dreams: a 1,056-foot hand-painted artwork floating across the seas, destined to travel the globe, much like the mythical odysseys it depicts.

"La Luna" is an unfolding epic of adventure, travel, and discovery, inviting viewers to embark on a magical journey of discovery and adventure to new lands and fantastical realms.
